Save it.
Quote it.
Cite it.

Peel keeps every source for your course in one place, spots what’s missing, and copies the right citation for your Google Doc or Word file. Pip helps when referencing gets confusing.

Also for Microsoft Edge, and as an app for Mac and Windows. Harvard, APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago, MHRA, OSCOLA, Vancouver, IEEE and AMA, plus 35 universities’ own Harvard.

How it works

  • Save as you read

One click on a web page or PDF, and Peel reads the title, authors and date. Or paste a DOI, ISBN or link. Anything missing is flagged.

  • Quotes with their pages

Right-click to save a quote with its page number. Highlight PDFs in Peel’s reader, in colours that mean something to you.

  • Copy into your essay

Copy a citation or a whole reference list, in your style, with the italics kept for Google Docs and Word.

  • Bring your library

Import from Zotero, Mendeley or EndNote (RIS, BibTeX or CSL JSON). Export everything any time.

Free guides to every style

See each part of a reference labelled, then build your own and copy it. 9 styles, no sign-up.

Meet Pip. Helpful, never does it for you.

Pip fills in missing details from real catalogues, tidies a reference’s capitals and names for your style, and explains the rules in plain words. It summarises the pages you choose and finds real sources for a question. When you’re paraphrasing, Pip coaches you through it instead of rewriting it, so the work stays yours.

Pip has a free week, then a few actions each month for free. Every change is shown before it’s made.

Yours, on your computer

  • No account. Your library and PDFs stay on your computer.
  • A passcode lock that encrypts your library, if you want one.
  • Free sync through your own Google Drive or OneDrive, encrypted first with a passphrase only you know.

Questions

Is Peel free?

Yes. Your library, every referencing style, quotes, the PDF reader, import, export, the passcode lock and sync are free for good. Pip, the AI helper, has a free week, then a few of its actions each month for free.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome and Microsoft Edge (version 116 or newer). There’s also an app for Mac and Windows, with the same library and PDF reader.

Do I need an account?

No. Peel keeps your library on your computer. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose a feature that needs it, like looking up a DOI or asking Pip. See what leaves your computer.

Does Peel put citations straight into Google Docs or Word?

Not yet. Copy a citation or your reference list from Peel and paste it in: the italics come with it.

Is my university’s version of Harvard there?

Peel has 35 universities’ own versions of Harvard, each checked against that university’s guide, and Cite Them Right for everyone else. In Peel, choose Find my university. See the list.

Will Pip write my essay?

No. Pip explains the rules, fills gaps from real catalogues, tidies a reference’s details and coaches your paraphrasing, but never rewrites your work. What Pip did keeps a list, for your university’s AI declaration. Check your course’s rules on AI.

Does it work with KanBananza?

Yes, and each works fine on its own. Link a Peel project with a KanBananza board, and its sources and quotes show on the board’s Sources stack, kept in step on your computer.

Plan the assignment too

Use KanBananza as well, and your Peel sources show on your assignment’s board. Each works fine on its own.
